Race Information


Aabenraa Mountain Marathon 2011 – Saturday June 18th

Start

1/1 Marathon  10.00 a.m.
Staff Walking 10.00 a.m.
½ Marathon 10.35 a.m.
½ Marathon relay 10.35 a.m.
10 km 11.00 a.m.
4,3 km 13.00 p.m.
Children´s race I (470m) 14.00 p.m.
Children´s race II (1,5 km) 14.30 p.m.

There is a participation limit of 800 runners on the 10 km and 700 runners on the 4,3 km routes.


Age reguirements
For the 1/1 marathon you must be at least 18 years old and for the 1/2 marathon you must be at least 16 years old in order to participate. The participants for the children's race I may be no more than 7 years old on the day of the race.
The childrens's race II is for children age 8 to 10 years old.

Place
The race takes place in Aabenraa, where the finish line and the start line are at Storetorv at the southern part of the pedestrian street.
The 1/1 and the 1/2 marathon as well as the 10 km routes are measuret by the D.A.F.

Share a half-marathon!
Sign up for a half-marathon relay, where two runneres each run one of the half-marathon trails. The relay team may be mixed male/female - young/older. Price per team 160 D.kr.

Organic Hill Sprint
There are prizes for the fastest 1/1 and 1/2 marathon runner (f/m). The sprint starts at the bottom af Hjarupvej and the finish line is at the top op Hjarupvej.

Changing accommodations

There are changing and showering facilities at the “Aabenraa Hallerne” located at Hjelmallé – roughly 1 km from the start and finish area.

Parking is also possible at the Aabenraa Hallerne.

There is free entrance to the swimming pool during opening hours on June 18th, 2011.

 

Preliminary training 

Preliminary training on the routes takes place every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. beginning 31. March.

Meeting place: Aabenraa Stadion, Vestvejen.

Before June 6th, 2011 at midnight.

If you register after June 6th, you will not be able to get a t-shirt.

The pick up of start numbers as well as late registration takes place at the race office located at the Public Administration cantina (Statsforvaltningens kantine). The entrance is located on Sct. Nicolai Gade.

 

Office and registration hours:

Friday June 17th 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Saturday June 18th starting at 7:00 a.m. until 1 hour before start of the specific race.

 

Upon receiving the registration fee, the participants name will be added to the list of participants on the race website. This registration counts as confirmation of participation.

NB!

Runners, who are 65 years or older on the day of the race participate in Aabenraa Mountain Marathon for free.

Marathon and ½ marathon runners, however, must pay 150,- Dd.kr. if they would like to receive a t-shirt.

  

Drinks and fruit

There are depots approximately every 4 km.

 

After the race

Fruits and drinks are available to all runners after the race.

Medals and diplomas are given out to all who complete the race.

 

Prizes

There are prizes for first, second and third place (male/female) on all distances except staff walking, children’s race I and the half-marathon relay. The winning half-marathon relay team only receives a prize. There are also prizes for the largest company team and the largest organization team.

Disclaimer

Anyone participating in the race has at time of registration accepted that participation is the sole responsibility of the individual runner and that the organizer can not be held liable. Runner assistants on bikes are not allowed. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in immediate disqualification.

If you are unable to participate in the event or a force majeure forces the organizers to cancel the event, no reimbursement of fees will be paid out.

  

Attention, please!

This year for, the first time, Aabenraa Mountain Marathon is using chips to register time. The chip must be turned in when you reach the finish line. Failure to return the chip will result in an additional charge of d.kr. 80,- to the runner. The first runner across the finish line in every race is the winner of the race.

 

Dinner after the race

It is possible to participate in a joint dinner at Føtex in Aabenraa Saturday June 18th at 6:00 p.m.

Price: 85,- d.kr. per person.

Friday Night Pasta Buffet

Friday June 17th from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Føtex in Aabenraa is serving a pasta buffet for anyone interested. Price per person is 30,00 d.kr.
